Annette Funicello is spinning in her grave.

  1. I'm really digging that Best Coast album (4 months late to the party, as usual). She just recorded a mellower session with WBEZ (Chicago WOOO!!) that I like even more than the album versions: http://www.wbez.org/story/music/performances/video-best-coast-performs-four-songs-sound-opinions

  2. Not to be the lady talks to herself via her own blog post, but this is my favorite Best Coast song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7nP5lRqFs8

It's got a Hole-vibe and lyrics I love. "I lost my job, I miss my mom, I wish my cat could talk" and "Nothing makes me happy. Not even TV or a bunch of weed."

  3. First order of business:

Thank you for this. I loved this post.

    1. I totally forgot about "They Don't Know About Us"!! She is too cute and this video is outrageously neat/awesome/cute/funny

    2. Still lovin "When I'm With You". I need to listen to the rest of the album (I plan to dive in over the break!) I like this video. It's like all the comfort of the casualness of of the 90's that I miss from music videos. YOu know? The intense colors and nonsensical costumes make me feel right at home. Plus this girl is keyuute!

    3. Barbara Lynn was a delight to watch. I love how she looks like she's loving what she's doing and how comfy she is with that guitar! What a confident babe.

    4. I looove this song. I listened to it over and over at work the other day. It's so sweet and bubbly, yet kinda of sad. I don't know what it is about 60's music but those songs seem to have a tinge of underlying sadness. That song "Downtown" is the best example I can think of right now.

Anyway thanks a lot because I've wanted some new lady music and my collection is lacking.
